Trump’s Middle East Peace Plan To Be Revealed After Israel’s April Elections

(JTA) — Senior White House adviser Jared Kushner said the Trump administration’s Middle East peace plan will be presented after Israel’s national elections in April.

Kushner, who is President Donald Trump’s Jewish son-in-law, announced the timing for the rollout of the peace plan during a closed-door session in Warsaw, Poland, as part of an international conference co-sponsored by the Polish and U.S. governments called the “Ministerial to Promote a Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East.

Kushner is leading a U.S. peace process team that also includes Jason Greenblatt and David Friedman, the U.S. ambassador to Israel.

He reportedly also said that both Israel and the Palestinians will have to compromise under the plan, which has been in process since early in the Trump administration. Kushner said the parties involved in the peace plan must “keep an open mind.”

Kushner did not reveal any details of the plan during his briefing, The Associated Press reported, citing an unnamed diplomat who was in the room for the presentation.

“We hear Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Israel and we understand that there is a chance,” Kushner said, The Jerusalem Post reported. “Once the unifying factor in the Arab world was the hatred towards Israel. Today they are concerned about the citizens.”
