A small rural fair, but worth your curiosity, comes and goes too quickly in Sullivan County’s Grahamsville, August 14-16.
Rhinebeck’s terrific Dutchess County Fair runs August 25-30.
And the great farewell to summer (farewell already?), The New York State Fair, will keep summer going into September, from August 27-September 7.
Yes, summer is already fading. Shabbos candles will get lit earlier beginning this Friday night, July 10, 8:11 p.m. From there we go, week by week, 8:07, 8:02, 7:55… but the fairs are coming, clocks stop, the bare light bulbs come on in the cow shed where the Four-H kids sleep on cots.
