Serious Blunder

Gary Rosenblatt’s all-out assault on the president of the U.S. in the guise of a Purim shpiel (“Trump And The Jews Echoes A Timely Tale,” Feb. 24) is a serious blunder. Yes, Trump’s personal defects are well known, but even The Jewish Week praised him for standing up to the Iranian Haman. And he has addressed the greatest threat to civilization — Islamist terrorism — words which [President] Obama refused to even utter.

But Trump also happens to be the most powerful man in the world, and we all know that he doesn’t take well to criticism. Are we blind to the reality that Jews are not the center of the world, just a speck and less than 3 percent of the U.S. — and immensely fortunate to live in the U.S. after 2,000 years of oppression? Our leaders have no right to put our community at risk by spitting in the president’s face.
