Nu, You Didn’t Know That The Seinfeld Stars Speak Yiddish?

New videos feature excepts from the hit sitcom Seinfeld in Yiddish.

Ever imagine that a mentsh like Jerry Seinfeld would be teaching you Yiddish?

Now you can watch Jerry Seinfeld and learn Yiddish at the same time. A Vimeo user by the handle of “A Mischel” has dubbed several excerpts from classic Seinfeld episodes in Yiddish, including “The Dentist” and “The Bris.” The videos are labeled as learning-language tools, most likely in order to avoid any issues of copyrights. Pre-dubbing, the show was no stranger to incorporating Yiddish terminology, making the Yiddish in these videos flow relatively seamlessly (well, maybe aside from Elaine and Jerry’s new heavy Yiddish accents, but you can’t win em’ all).

So grab some chicken soup and a kenedele, your bubbe, and watch some Seinfeld in Yiddish. Nu, what are you waiting for?
