I’m so excited about the amazing reception so many of you have given to From Longing to Belonging-A Practical Guide to Including People with Disabilities and Mental Health Conditions in Your Faith Community!

Since the publication of From Longing to Belonging, I’ve been invited to speak to a variety of faith communities as well as secular and academic communities. I’m excited to share insights and practical strategies from those talks on a new webinar from RespectAbility. I hope you’ll spend an hour with me on Wednesday, April 10th to gain new perspectives and ideas to move your organization From Longing to Belonging! The following information is from RespectAbility, the host of this webinar.

“From Longing to Belonging”
Shelly Christensen

RespectAbility understands that a faith community, like all communities, is stronger when it lives up to its values – when it is welcoming, diverse, moral, and respects every person. However, many religious institutions struggle to fully include children, parents, grandparents, friends, and other family members with disabilities in their communities. Knowing how to ensure full participation of people with disabilities is critical to all agencies, synagogues, churches, temples, and other communities.
