Yiddish Tango from Warsaw

September 25 , 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

As the tango craze swept through Europe in the 1930s, Warsaw became the Eastern European capital of this dance and bore witness to the birth of its most eclectic permutation: Yiddish tango.

Join us as Polish-Israeli singer Olga Avigail Mieleszczuk, one of Europe’s premier performers and scholars of Jewish music, presents a multilingual repertoire that includes new arrangements merging the traditional Argentinean sound with the unique style of pre-war tango influenced by klezmer.

Featuring a special guest performance by clarinetist, Michael Winograd.
