World music trailblazers Yemen Blues brings their rapturous dance-in-the-aisles concert experience to Brooklyn Bowl!
The band, which has been igniting audiences with its unabashedly barrier-busting mix of Muslim/Jewish/Latin folk with contemporary African-American funk, jazz and soul, played multiple sold-out shows at Joe’s Pub in January. This is their only concert date in New York this summer.
Led by the singer and composer Ravid Kahalani — who, since launching the project in Israel in 2010 is one of contemporary music’s boldest avatars of multi-culturalism – Yemen Blues is reaching across the aisles to merge sounds of rich cultural traditions that reveal deep resonances beyond the walls of society.
