The Stanton Street Shul

June 4 , 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

At this intimate evening experience at The Stanton Street Shul, see one of only two tenement-style synagogues remaining on the Lower East Side today, wedged into a tiny narrow lot; twenty feet wide and roughly 100 feet long, the sanctuary walls are a series of 12 murals of the zodiac signs that date back to the 1930s. This little synagogue is a distinctive architectural, cultural, and religious landmark of the older Jewish LES whose congregation and building exemplify both continuity and change.

A portion of the proceeds of this tour are returned to the synagogue.
