The Museum at Eldridge Street presents a virtual program exploring the forgotten world of Black cantors in the early-20th century. This talk with Henry Sapoznik will honor the memory of now forgotten Black cantors – Mendele der S—–er Khazn, Reb Dovid Kalistrita HaCohen der Falash, Abraham Ben Benjamin Franklin, Thomas LaRue Jones and Goldye di Sh—–e Khaznte the first – and only — Black woman cantor.
