Shabbat Shabbang: Yiddish Lullabies + Love Songs
January 18 , 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Inna Barmash is back at the JCC with songs from her album, Yiddish Lullabies and Love Songs, which premiered at Joe’s Pub as the culmination of a COJECO BluePrint Fellowship. The performance will draw from songs collected in prewar shtetls in 1920s Ukraine as well as from contemporary Yiddish art songs. Since its release, the album has touched many families in the Russian Jewish community, and has served as an entry point for those interested in Russian and Yiddish culture. Join us as we step back to yesteryear with some of the greatest melodies of the 20th century.
