Sat. Afternoon On The Terrace: A Social & A Class

All welcome to join us for a relaxing Shabbat afternoon class & social, featuring refreshments, fresh fruit, cold drinks, & great people!

Event located on the terrace at the home of Jeff Stier, chairman of JICNY’s Board. Every month we feature a new guest speaker:

This month we welcome Rabbi Charles Savenor, who will speaj on the topic of “The Forgotten Chapter of Jewish History – The Jews’ return from exile to build the Second Temple has a lot to teach us about second chances then and now.”

Rabbi Charlie Savenor serves as the Director of Congregational Education at the Park Avenue Synagogue. A graduate of Brandeis University, he was ordained at JTS Rabbinical School in 1996. He earned a Masters of Education at Columbia University, Teachers College in 2008. A member of the International board of Gesher, Rabbi Savenor is a volunteer fundraiser for lone soldiers through Nefesh B’Nefesh.  Rabbi Savenor’s articles on leadership and parenting and fatherhood have appeared in “The Jerusalem Post” and “The Jewish Week,” and he blogs for Times of Israel. A Red Sox and Patriots fan, he lives on the USW with his wife, Julie Walpert, and their sons, Joseph and Benjamin.
