Race and Us: A Conversation with Ilana Kaufman

December 4 , 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

There are an estimated 7 million Jews in the United States (American Jewish Population Project 2013-2019), and at least 1 million identify as nonwhite People of Color (Counting Inconsistencies 2019). However, when we look at almost every Jewish organization, leadership team, and constituent group, we see few, if any, Jews of Color.
Join Ilana Kaufman, executive director of the Jews of Color Field Building Initiative, for a conversation about data, demographics, the power of well-considered questions, and what it means to create a just, thriving, multiracial U.S. Jewish community. At this event, part presentation, part discussion, and part community conversation, Ilana will be joined by leaders and executives of Jewish organizations who will speak to their experiences advancing the work of diversity, inclusion, equity, and justice.
This event is co-sponsored by B’nai Jeshurun.
