Purim in Paterson
March 21 , 9:00 am
What’s the Big Shpiel This Year with the Paterson Minyan?
Paterson once boasted more than 30,000 Jews. Today less than 50. Many from Russian, Latvian, Israeli, Canadian and other parts of Europe, live under one roof at the Federation Apartment complex across from the old Yavneh Academy located at 510 East 27th Street/corner of 12th Ave. The senior citizens live independently but rely on the Shabbat and Holiday Minyanim led by their Fair Lawn neighbors just across county lines While it takes crossing the Passaic River, and without an Eruv, one can praise the Fair Lawn Jewish community for doing one the greatest Mitzvot of making a Minyan and visiting our elders. There is a Mitzvah in the book of Vayikrah to honor the elderly. They rely so much on interaction with other members of the Jewish community.
Consider dropping by for Purim for the Thursday morning Minyan 9am (March 21st) with Megillah reading at 10am and a Seudah provided to all afterwards.
Come for a different Purim experience where the true feeling of Marbim B’Simcha can be shared by all. Free street parking.
