An estimated 400,000 numbers were tattooed on people in Auschwitz and its sub-camps. Numbered documents the dark time and setting during which these tattoos were assigned as well as the meaning they took on in the years following the war. This screening will be followed by a discussion with Professor Hasia Diner of New York University.
This film is co-presented with the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference), as part of a series that advances our joint efforts to preserve the memory of the Holocaust.
Free; advance registration recommended.
