Jewish Heritage Night
August 5, 2018 , 5:00 pm
The fourth annual Jewish Heritage Night with the Long Island Ducks will take place on Sunday, August 5 at Bethpage Ballpark in Central Islip. With the first pitch scheduled for 5:05 p.m., members of the Jewish community are expecting their largest turnout yet.
Jewish Heritage Night will be the only game of the year in which kosher food will be available for game-goers. Traditional kosher ballpark food including hot dogs, hamburgers, fries and traditional knishes will be available for fans to enjoy.
Jewish music will be played throughout the evening and complimentary “l’chaim stadium cups” will be distributed. The Long Island Ducks are currently celebrating their 18th year which is a symbolic number in Judaism with its numerical value equaling the Hebrew word, chai — meaning life, a positive message and theme.
“This game will be a wonderful show of Long Island Jewish unity and pride,” said Rabbi Shimon Stillerman, co-director of Chabad of Islip Township, the evening’s sponsor. “This is an opportunity for members of the Jewish community to enjoy their first kosher Long Island Ducks game as well as have a fun time rooting for the Ducks.”
This event is open to the public and tickets are available for $14. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.JewishIslip.com/Ducks.
