Jewish Food Festival & Purim Carnival
March 17 , 2:00 pm
Congregation Shir Shalom of Westchester and Fairfield Counties will host their annual Purim Carnival and Inaugural Jewish Food Festival.
Purim is an annual raucous and festive celebration of the triumph of good over evil, inspired by the Biblical book of Esther. And this year Congregation Shir Shalom is bringing out the “whole megillah,” with a celebration of all things Purim and all foods Jewish.
The event is open to the community. There will be games and prizes for kids of all ages along with an assortment of delicious Jewish treats from pickles to knishes. Egg creams will be expertly mixed by special guest Kenny Gomberg of Gomberg Seltzer Works.
Admission/Activity bracelet for $10 per child includes carnival games, face-painting (presented by the Enchanted Garden), inflatables (presented by Kiwi Country Day Camp), prizes, popcorn, cotton candy, and an egg cream. (Healthy treats available for purchase too; cash only)
The community is also invited to join in a sustainability-focused activity with the synagogue’s Social Action Committee and teen Social and Justice Education (SAJE) program.
