Back to School Street Fair
September 2 , 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Getting ready for the start of a new school year doesn’t have to be met with dread; it should be seen as a celebration! To get the kids excited for the upcoming academic year, the JCCMP, in conjunction with Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein, are once again hosting their much-anticipated back-to-school street fair on September 2 (Labor Day) in front of the JCC Simcha Hall, located at 3415 Quentin Rd from 2:00 – 6:00 P.M. To accommodate the large crowd, Quentin Rd. between 34 – 35 streets will be closed off.
The highly-attended affair, which in previous years saw about 1000 attendees, is a fun way to get the whole family to enjoy the last official day of summer while also preparing youngsters for their first day of class. Participants will get to enjoy two Uncle Moishy concerts (one from 3-3:30 and another from 5-5:30 P.M.), entertainment, refreshments, blow-up rides, and many giveaways. One of the most sought after items of the fair is the distribution of backpacks, which are free and full of necessary school supplies.
To receive a backpack, please register at firstname.lastname@example.org.
