ASL-Interpreted Yom HaShoah Commemoration

May 1 , 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

We’re thrilled to announce that, for the tenth year in a row, we’ll be
providing ASL interpretation for the annual Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) Commemoration being presented by Downtown Jewish Life, a collection of Synagogues in Lower Manhattan that includes us at Town & Village (T&V, www.tandv.org).

The Downtown Jewish Life community joins together on this somber occasion in a ceremony commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day on the Lower East Side. We remember the past and vow to not make it prologue.

The ceremony will include remarks from Rabbis from several area
Synagogues, along with songs from the Cantors and Chorus of Downtown Jewish Life, a Projection of Names of Loved Ones We Remember and Memorial Prayers. Also, Survivor Johanna Reiss will speak about her experiences.

*Event will be held at the Manny Cantor Center at the Educational Alliance, 197 East Broadway in Manhattan (near the “F” train), NOT at T&V.
