A Night of Stand-Up Comedy

April 13 , 7:30 pm

Professional stand-up comedian Rabbi Alper will present humorous life stories with warmth, intelligence, and wisdom.

It will be 90 minutes of non-stop laughter with Rabbi Alper, the world’s only practicing clergyman performing full-time stand-up comedy across North America and England. His fresh, contemporary, and totally unorthodox style has been entertaining audiences for over 30 years. He is also the author of three books, and producer of two best-selling comedy CDs and a DVD.

Rabbi Robert Alper is an ordained rabbi who, since 1986, has performed as a stand-up comic at a wide variety of venues across North America and England. He is the world’s only practicing clergyman performing full-time stand-up comedy and is the author of three books: Life Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This, the award-winning full-color cartoon book A Rabbi Confesses and the recently published Thanks. I Needed That. He has also produced two best-selling comedy CDs and a DVD.

Rabbi Alper served two large congregations for fourteen years and currently conducts annual High Holy Days services for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. His unique background as an ordained rabbi, as well as the studies that earned him a doctorate from Princeton Theological Seminary, prepared him well for a 27-year comedy career with wonderfully unique material presented in an intelligent and sophisticated way.

Rabbi Alper resides in rural Vermont with his wife Sherri, a psychotherapist.  He quips that professionally they make a great team: he makes people laugh, while she helps people cry.  There’s a reason why Sirius/XM Satellite Radio broadcasts Rabbi Alper’s humorous bits several times daily.

Coffee and Desserts will be served in the Atrium prior to the event.
