A Conversation on the Future of Judaism in America

Shaarei Tikvah, the Scarsdale Conservative Congregation, is honored to welcome Dr. Arnold Eisen, Chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary, for a conversation on the future of Judaism in America. The conversation, open to the public, will be moderated by Maital Friedman of the Shalom Hartman Institute with introductions by Shaarei Tikvah’s Rabbi Adam Baldachin.
Chancellor Arnold Eisen is one of the world’s foremost authorities on American Judaism. Since becoming JTS chancellor in 2007, he has transformed the education of leaders for North American Jewry, graduating highly skilled, innovative leaders who invigorate Judaism in ways that speak authentically to today’s rapidly changing world. Previously, Dr. Eisen served as the faculties of Stanford, Columbia, and Tel Aviv universities. An award-winning writer, he is the author of several
books, including Rethinking Modern Judaism. He contributes to the Wall Street Journal, The Jewish Week, Huffington Post, Tablet, and Fortune. He explores Jewish education, philosophy, and values

Maital Friedman is Muslim Leadership Initiative Alumni Director at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America. Previously, she served as Senior Program Director at Repair the World, where she led the
organization’s signature multi-site volunteering initiative. She holds a Master of Public Administration and Non profit Management from NYU and a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton in Religion and African Studies.
