A Good Day In ‘The Writer’s Almanac’

It was excellent to wake with a cup of coffee to this morning’s ‘Writer’s Almanac’ — a reflective, romantic, stimulating poem; Chekov’s birthday; and the publishing of “The Raven” by Poe in 1845 (it seems so much modern than that — James Knox Polk was president, of all things) in a New York newspaper that was to become “The Daily Mirror,” back in the day when newspapers published poetry.
