“Where’s The Outrage” (Jan. 22) was an excellent Editorial criticizing the lack of public and Jewish outrage over the epidemic of maimings and murders of Israelis, as well as BDS activities and other forms of attack.
So where is the “outrage” over editor Gary Rosenblatt’s column “Frustration With Israel Is Growing Here At Home” (Jan. 8)?
Like The New York Times, Secretary of State John Kerry, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro, and the Jewish “leaders” Rosenblatt consulted, he shifts the blame to Israel’s democratically elected Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for [Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud] Abbas’ incitement to murder and the terrorist killings by ordinary Palestinians.
We desperately need our highly respected Jewish Week to take the lead making Israel’s excellent case in a world of increasing Israel- based anti-Semitism — not turn Israel into the problem.
Editor’s Note: To be clear, my column highlighted the deep concerns of firmly pro-Israel Jewish communal leaders who worry that Israel is being perceived widely as responsible for the stalemate over peace negotiations.
