In the article “How Religious Leaders Dismiss Trump’s Misbehavior” (April 6) Gary Rosenblatt writes that the alliance of Orthodox Jews and Evangelical Christians supporting President Trump is “based on political pragmatism.” But that is only part of the answer. Important to both groups are shared values, support for Israel, and — unlike the hysterical Trump haters—a pragmatic understanding of what is best for our country. In other words, they saw the larger picture and realized that despite his sometimes boorish behavior, Trump was a far better choice than a disingenuous and corrupt career politician.
