We woke up bright and early and loaded up the bus for our morning on the Golan Heights. We met with an IDF tank commander who shared his personal experiences and answered all our questions. We even got the opportunity to speak with two current soldiers. A definite highlight of the trip was seeing active army tanks close up.

From there we took a power nap on the bus as we traveled down towards the Israeli news studio. There, we met with Ehud Ya’ari, the preeminent expert on Israeli policy in the Middle East.

We later visited the Taglit Innovation Center, where we explored just what “start-up nation” has to offer. After settling in at our beachside hotel, we heard from Lt. Colonel (res) David Benjamin and discussed the Israeli military legal system. As we head off to an evening at the Tel Aviv Port, we can’t help but look forward to vising Save a Child’s Heart and Jerusalem tomorrow!
