As conservative radio personality Laura Ingraham ended her speech Wednesday night on the penultimate eve of the Republican National Convention, she motioned to the crowd. That wave began in a manner that was eerily reminiscent to the Nazi salute, or “heil.” Given Trump’s popularity amongst white supremacists and nazi sympathizers, the salute was especially alarming.
While seemingly unintentional, the videos and photos of the gesture are hard to ignore (although, thus far, Ingraham has ignored the hullabaloo and pretended the incident never happened). Just like most viral moments these days, the best initial reactions were found on Twitter. We collected some of the best ones for you.

ugh I hate when you go up to give a big speech on live tv and you're all "don't heil, don't heil, don't heil" and then a heil slips out

Ingraham, to self: "Remember not to salute Mr. Trump. No salute. Act normal. Just turn… and wave… and… ah crap." pic.twitter.com/deYGikCDOs

IT WASN’T A NAZI SALUTE. IT WAS AN OLYMPIC SALUTE. SPECIFICALLY, BERLIN 1936 #RNCinCLE
