I read with surprise and sadness Robert Goldblum’s “Lincoln Plaza Cinema, Art House ‘Jewel In The Crown,’ To Close” (Dec. 22).
I am proud to say that my grandmother, Cynthia Pader, and I have been part of the rich fabric of this renowned theater. I am a Brandeis University Film graduate, and she is a feisty octogenarian. We would meet up during school breaks and on weekends to catch a matinee before going out for a leisurely lunch to talk about our shared cinematic experience.
This theater, with its unparalleled films and rich history, can only get better with time. Let’s hope it does re-open as a cinema so that my Grandma and I, and countless Lincoln Plaza Cinema devotees, can continue to make movie memories.
