The Write On For Israel 2018 trip is officially underway! Our group of around 40 students landed in Israel yesterday, and so far the trip has been a whirlwind. We started off our first full day in Israel by heading to Mitzpeh Ofir/Gadot to learn about the story of Eli Cohen and the Six Day War, plus we got to see some amazing views from the Golan Heights. We then went to Um El Kanatir Synagogue where we discussed the Jewish historical connection to the Golan Heights. In the afternoon we hiked Nachal El Al/Gamla, and those who were brave enough went for a dip. Finally, we ended the day by hearing Nathan Jeffay, Jewish Week Israel Contributing Editor and Columnist, talk about Israel and the media. Come back tomorrow for photos from Day Two!
