The Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center and the JCC present a book talk about the novel Something Beautiful Happened: A story of Survival and Courage in the Face of Evil. Author Yvette Manessis Corporon grew up listening to her grandmother’s stories about how people of her native Greek island hid a Jewish family from the Nazis and finally found the survivors’ descendants in Israel — a reunion cut short by her cousin’s child being gunned down by a neo-Nazi at the JCC of Kansas. Moderated by Steve Goldberg, co-educational director at HHREC
