Thanks for covering the new center (“Chabad Expanding Footprint On The Upper West Side,” March 30). I would point out that while Chabad’s main focus is education, it also operates two very full minyanim every Shabbat and holiday, as well as daily Shacharit services. On an average, Chabad of the West Side has about 250 men, women and children attending services on Shabbat, and holiday programming that draws thousands throughout the year. Weekly Friday night dinners provide a Shabbat experience to visitors and locals alike.

After 30 years, Chabad is ready to have a permanent home after renting various locations.

The writer is program director at Chabad Hebrew School of the Upper West Side.
