In a new video, violinist and singer Ariella Zeitlin, performs a medley of songs from the Prince of Egypt, giving viewers a different take on the story of Moses as a baby. Filmed at Ein Maboah in the desert near the Dead Sea, the accompanying video to her astonishing violin performance, features actors playing out the story of Moses as a baby being places in the Red Sea. of the story of Moses’ mother placing him in the Reed Sea. In her work, Zeitlin, a 29-year-old mother of two, told The Jewish Week that she likes to depict strong women in Jewish history in her work.
Zeitlin, who is originally from Baltimore and moved to Israel and the age of 17, recently appeared on the Israeli version of “The Voice.” Though she didn’t make it to the final, she was praised for bringing a new, decidedly different tone to the show with her dual violin-singing performance.
